Terms & Conditions
These T&C’s are to ensure the safety of our guests, the preservation of our facilities, and an enjoyable holiday for all. If you have any concerns, please contact the office on info@saltbushbb.org.au
- The ‘hirer’ is the person or organisation who is listed as the primary contact on the booking. The referring agency is the community service organisation that contacted Saltbush, Balnarring Beach to recommend the guest for accommodation, a retreat or program. The funding agency is the community service organisation that is paying for the stay.
- Guests must be responsible for themselves. Saltbush is not equipped to provide intensive support to guests. Guests must be accompanied by a carer if they require day to day support. Parents and Carers are responsible for children and dependents at all times, including on School Holiday Programs.
- The names and contact details of all guests on site must be provided 7 days prior to the arrival date. Failure to provide all details may result in cancellation, or in not being allowed to book again. The hirer will be invoiced $120 per person per night for additional unnotified guests who are onsite at Saltbush. (There is no additional charge if details are provided
- Saltbush provides a space for a quiet and peaceful holiday for people who need it most. Houses are located close together and within a residential area. We ask guests not to make excessive noise on site, and to have no noise audible outside the houses or Nano Community Space after 9pm. Please take extra care to be considerate of neighbours
- Each house has a maximum occupancy. This number shall not be exceeded due to Occupational Health and Safety Risks.
- No pets allowed. Registered Guide Dogs and registered Therapy Animals are welcome. (Registration details required at booking).
- Payment – A $75 per house deposit is payable at the time of booking. All bookings must be paid for in full 7 days prior to the arrival. Saltbush, Balnarring Beach may rebook the house if payment is not received in full. Every effort will be made to contact guests and agency to confirm the bookings, however it is the full responsibility of the hirer to ensure all funds are paid by the required date.
- Cancellations received with 14 days’ notice of arrival date, will receive a full refund.Cancellations received with7- 14 days’ notice of arrival date, may be charged $75 per house.Cancellations received with less than 7 days’ notice of arrival date, may be charged in full.
- Check out is strictly before 10am, check in is after 2pm. If you require something different, please ask at the time of booking.
- Any damage to any property of Saltbush, Balnarring Beach including all houses, Nano Community Space, outbuilding, and structures must be reported to the office in person or by phone or email immediately. Damage caused by the hirer or their guests may be invoiced to the hirer, referring or funding agency. An administration fee may be charged.
- If the property is left in an unkept manner, an additional cleaning fee may be charged to the hirer or referring or funding agency.
- A supervising adult will be required to stay overnight in each of the houses in the event of school camps or youth retreats. No property shall have children under the age of 18 years staying overnight and be left unattended by a legal guardian.
- IfSaltbush, Balnarring Beach receives an account from emergency services for attending our facility, the guest who received the service or who was the subject of the call out will be responsible for paying the account.
- Guests are asked to comply with current Covid safe restrictions and recommended behaviours including mask wearing if required. Please do not attend the site if you are unwell or have Covid.
- Rarely, Saltbush may be required to cancel a booking at late notice– we will fully refund bookings if this occurs.
- Failure to comply with these T&C’s may result in the guests being asked to vacate the facility immediately.
In addition to the above, the hirer of the Nano Community Space:
- Agrees to physically review the space prior to use to ensure that it is suitable for the planned activity or gathering.
- Agrees that the venue, and all fixtures, fittings, equipment, or items at the venue, are deemed to be in a good and clean condition and working order at the start of the hire, or that they have reported defects or concerns in writing to the General Manager (info@saltbushbb.org.au)
- Cannot assign the right to use the venue to any other person, without the Saltbush Manager’s prior written consent.
- Agrees to provide the full names, and the full contact details of the Hirer to Saltbush, unless otherwise agreed, and agrees to ensure all participants using the venue sign in, and sign out.
- Is responsible for setting up and clearing away all equipment, goods and other items, and returning furniture to its original location.
- Must not enter the venue prior to 9am, and must have vacated the venue by 5pm unless agreed in writing.
- Must ensure that his/her/their use of the venue does not cause any disturbance to the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood.
- Must ensure that noise must not be louder than that of a normal conversation when heard at adjoining residences.
- Must leave the Venue in a clean and tidy state. (Please wash and put away all dishes, wipe all benches, mop floor if needed, vacuum carpet and lino, and remove all rubbish from the Nanospace).
- Must place all waste material in the appropriate bin or receptacle (recycling bin is yellow).
- Must remove all food items brought in, including from the fridge and freezer.
- Saltbush staff and contractors shall always have access to the venue.
- Must ensure the venue is locked, the key is returned to the key safe and the code set to 0000.
- Must ensure the space is used legally.
- Must ensure that all children and vulnerable people are always supervised by parents or guardians.
- Must not serve alcohol is at the venue unless with written consent from Saltbush. If consent is given, the Hirer must ensure that no alcohol is consumed by persons under 18 years of age, and the Hirer must comply with all liquor licensing requirements.
- Must not sell food or refreshment of any kind without the prior written consent of Saltbush. The Hirer must ensure that, where any catering is provided by a person or company that person or company is registered under the Food Act 1984 (Vic).
- Must ensure that no gambling, in which money is directly or indirectly passed as a prize, are conducted at the venue.
- Smoking is not permitted within the immediate vicinity of the venue.
- Must always ensure that, exits are kept clear so that they can be immediately used in the event of an emergency.
- Must ensure that no lit candles, naked flames of any kind, or pyrotechnics, are used at the venue or on the surrounding land. TheHirer is liable for the cost of any attendance by any emergency services, caused by fire or reasonable concern or alarm.
- Releases, to the fullest extent possible at law, Saltbush from any liability for any loss of, damage to or theft of any property or equipment owned by the Hirer or any third party at the venue.
